GOD
CONTINUES TO WORK WONDERS
BREAD
13 Then
the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a
child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to
you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” Genesis 18:13-14 (NIV)
8 “Remember
this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am
God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient
times, what is still to come. I say: My
purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:8-10 (NIV)
21 Jesus
asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like
this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It
has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do
anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything
is possible for him who believes.” 24 Immediately
the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:21-24 (NIV)
5 Keep
your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,
because God has said, “Never will I
leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So
we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6 (NIV)
9 O
righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of
the wicked and make the righteous secure. 10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in
heart. 11 God
is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day. Psalms 7:9-11 (NIV)
6 I
call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. 7 Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by
your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Psalms 17:6-7 (NIV)
11 God
did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so
that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick,
and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. Acts 19:11-12
(NIV)
1 We
must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we
do not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and
every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how
shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was
first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4 God
also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the
Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:1-4 (NIV)
16 No,
this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 “In
the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and
daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will
dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my
Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the
earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The
sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the
great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.” Acts 2:16-21 (NIV)
22 “Men
of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you
by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you
yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose
and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by
nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the
agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” Acts 2:22-24 (NIV)

Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

“The world will never starve for want of
wonders, but for want of wonder.” G.
K. Chesterton
“At times you will feel as
the Israelites did before I worked through Moses to part the Red Sea. They gazed
with fear into a sea of hopelessness as their Egyptian enemies headed toward
them. However, as My people discovered, hopelessness is just an illusion
created by the enemy. The truth is, there is no such thing as a futile
situation. I am the God of hope, even when everything you love and live for
appears to be drowning. When you can’t swim any longer, I am your lifesaver. I
am the author of your life who can rewrite and transform any tragedy to
triumph. I am the one who will work all things together for your good even when
it appears all has gone bad. When you don’t know what to do, be still long
enough to allow Me to calm the storm in your heart and part the sea that seems
to lie in the way of My promises for you. If you will wait on Me, you will witness
My wonders!” Sheri Rose Shepherd
“I never have difficulty believing in miracles, since I experienced the
miracle of a change in my own heart.”
Augustine
“It is then faith in Christ – not merely works or slavish legal
obedience - which releases the divine power to live the Christian life. Flesh will ultimately fail you. Christ does not automatically operate in a
believer’s life like rubbing a jar for a genie and making a Paul out of a
Pilate. No, no…as we walk in faith,
placing our trust and confidence in Him, He bestows the power to accomplish
things too hard for man to do – the most amazing one is changing the bents of
our broken human hearts. He is the
ultimate Transformer always from the inside out. Trust Him with your life.” BHY
