TEACH US TO PRAY
BREAD
9 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed
be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our

13 “When
I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour
the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if
my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek
my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will

my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother
had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez
cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my
territory! Let your hand be with me, and
keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his

14 Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and

pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through
his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high
and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that
you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians

we pray, He will work. And we must keep on praying even when we cannot see what
He is doing. We do not see into the world in which God lives, but He definitely

Give God the
glory due His Name in prayer. The
movement of His Hand from our prayers demonstrates His power – and the One Who
gives the power gets the glory.

The great
posture of prayer is humility.
·
Our prayers
are as sweet incense to the Lord – particularly intercessory prayer for others. They are a pleasing sacrifice, acceptable to
the Lord, a fragrant aroma that reaches the Throne Room of heaven. Never neglect it.
