JESUS
SAVES
BREAD
12 Salvation
is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men
by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
(NIV)
6 Jesus
answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (NIV)
1 I
urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving
be made for everyone-- 2 for
kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in
all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved
and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the
testimony given in its proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an
apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true
faith to the Gentiles. 1 Timothy 2:1-7
(NIV)
9 Do you
not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be
deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male
prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor
slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you
were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
(NIV)
2 Dear
friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made
known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see
him as he is. 3 Everyone
who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:2-3 (NIV)
13 No
temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he
will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,
he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you
into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears,
and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He
will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.” John 16:12-14 (NIV)
13 I can
do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
BUTTER
Jesus not only saves us eternally,
He saves us from sin and self as well.
We need only to trust (rely, depend upon) the Holy Spirit’s power which dwells
within every child of the King. 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the
Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the
Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9 (NIV) BHY
“The Grand Doctrines of eternal
truth are frequently treated as venerable non-entities, and have no effect
whatever upon the conduct of those who profess to receive them, because
they do not realize them as matters of fact, or see their solemn bearings. It
is shocking to reflect that a change in the weather has more effect on some
men's lives than the dread alternative of heaven or hell. A woman's
glance affects them more than the eye of God. We cannot, however, be content with this; we
labor that those around us may savingly believe by putting their trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ. This is the grand saving act: The man brings his soul and
commits it to Christ for safe keeping, and that entrusting of the soul to Jesus
saves him. He makes the Saviour trustee of his spiritual estates, and leaves
himself and all his eternal interests in those dear hands which once were
nailed to the cross. Oh, how we long to see the Holy Spirit bringing men to
this, that they may believe in Jesus Christ by resting in Him and trusting upon
Him. For this we live, for this we would be content to die, that many might
believe.”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
“Though, your
faith is as weak as a single strand of a spider’s web, if it is faith in
Christ, it is saving faith; because it is not faith that saves, it is not even
faith in Christ that saves, it is Christ who saves.” John
Murray
“We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all
around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Bear the news to every land, Climb the
mountains, cross the waves; Onward! ’tis our Lord’s command; Jesus saves! Jesus
saves! Waft it on the rolling tide: Jesus
saves! Jesus saves! Tell to sinners far
and wide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing,
you islands of the sea; Echo back, you ocean caves; Earth shall keep her
jubilee: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing above
the battle strife: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Shout it
brightly through the gloom, When the heart for mercy craves; Sing in triumph
o’er the tomb: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Give the winds a mighty voice: Jesus
saves! Jesus saves! Let the nations now rejoice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Shout
salvation full and free; Highest hills and deepest caves; This our song of
victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!” Priscilla J. Owens
HEART SAVOR
- · Jesus came to seek and to save the lost (which, btw, is all of us).
- · Jesus not only saves us eternally He also saves us from ourselves and from the world as we depend upon His power which dwells within each believer in Him.
- · I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
