HE FILLS OUR HEARTS WITH JOY
BREAD

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. 5 Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. 6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”  Isaiah 12:4-6 (NIV)

7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. 8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.    Psalms 4:7-8 (NIV)

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.   Psalms 16:9-11 (NIV)

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.  The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.  8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.  The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.  The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.  10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. 11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  Psalms 19:7-11 (NIV)

7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.  Psalms 28:7 (NIV)

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. 16 In the past, he let all nations go their own way. 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”  Acts 14:14-17 (NIV)

8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.  Psalms 100:1-5 (NIV)

“Happiness depends on what happens; joy does not.”  Oswald Chambers

“True glory and holy joy is to glory in Thee and not in one’s self.”  Thomas a Kempis

“The weapon of repentance, through rejection of false beliefs and affirmation of godly truth, has changed thousands of lives.  Repentance can liberate the mind and destroy speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God (2 Cor. 10:5) And it can help us discover the wondrous significance we have in Jesus Christ: We are deeply loved, completely forgiven, fully pleasing, totally acceptable, and complete in Him.  Our journey is a joyous and challenging adventure with Christ.”  Robert McGee

“Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God.”   Leon Bloy

HEART SAVOR

  • ·         A heart full of Jesus is full of joy.
  • ·         Joy does not depend on favorable circumstances.  In His presences is fullness of joy.
  • ·         It is Christ alone who satisfies the human heart.  All other things will eventually be found wanting.
