Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.   Galatians 5:22-25 (NIV)

“We shall never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; it is what Jesus is, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul.  If we would at once overcome Satan and have peace with God, it must be by ‘looking unto Jesus’.  Keep thine eye simply on Him; let His death, His sufferings, His merits, His glories, His intercession, be fresh upon thy mind; when thou wakest in the morning look to Him; when thou liest down at night look to Him.  Oh!  Let not thy hopes or fears come between thee and Jesus; follow hard after Him, and He will never fail thee.”     C. H. Spurgeon

“The ‘pure in heart’ are those who have had their sins forgiven and are resting in the merits of Christ’s efficacious blood shed on the cross on their behalf.  They are those who, clothed in Christ’s righteousness, rest secure in Him.  It is only they who are bestowed upon the peace that passes all understanding.”  BHY

“To added affliction He addeth His mercy, to multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.”  Annie Johnson Flint

“God, and not the world, can give peace.”  Billy Graham

“Peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God.”  Alexander Maclaren

“God alone can bless His people, keep them, look on them with favor (make His face shine and turn His face toward them), be gracious to them, and give them peace.”  The Bible Knowledge Commentary

HEART SAVOR

  • ·         Peace comes from God not the world.
  • ·         God’s peace transcends all understanding – He gives not as the world giveth.  His peace   is unearthly in its nature.
  • ·         He keeps us in perfect peace as we keep our mind steadfast on Him.
