14 But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as
their fathers, who did not trust in the LORD their God. 15 They
rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the
warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became
worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the LORD had ordered
them, “Do not do as they do,” and they did the things the LORD had forbidden
them to do. 2 Kings 17:14-15 (NIV)
4 In
your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be
silent. Selah 5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD. 6 Many
are asking, “Who can show us any good?” Let
the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their
grain and new wine abound.
8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for
you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalms 4:4-8 (NIV)
17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no
grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no
food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet
I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. 19 The
Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he
enables me to go on the heights. Habakkuk
3:17-19 (NIV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make
your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and
shun evil. Proverbs 3:5-7 (NIV)
14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies
and from those who pursue me. 16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your
unfailing love. Psalms 31:14-16 (NIV)
3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and
enjoy safe pasture. 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the
desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will
do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the
justice of your cause like the noonday sun. 7 Be
still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed
in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain
from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. Psalms 37:3-8 (NIV)
22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. 23 But you, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in you. Psalms 55:22-23 (NIV)
7 Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not
hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. 8 Let
the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in
you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalms 143:7-8 (NIV)

“Faith is the prism we
need to see hope when all seems lost, to survive the furnace of suffering to
grow despite the pain.”

“It is not our trust that keeps us, but
the God in whom we trust who keeps us.” Oswald Chambers
“If
the Sovereign, Omnipotent, Omniscient God is on our side, as His child, seriously,
what do we have to fear? He, Who loves
us with an everlasting love, Who ever has His eye upon us, Who never leaves us
nor forsakes us, Who not only died to save us but has also given us the Grand
Deposit of the precious Holy Spirit to empower us to walk in a manner worthy of
our high calling all the way Home – this God, this very God is for us and not
against us. No matter what the circumstances
of your life may be bellowing out. The
world shouts fear while God whispers peace.
He will never let the righteous fall and we can trust Him with our lives
and with the lives of all we love and hold dear.” BHY
“There has to be something that is always
right, always true, even when life seems to say otherwise. We
need a map that is always right, no matter what the ground seems to say. The
map that’s always right is faith in a God who loves us, in the good news that someone
loved us enough to die for us although we didn’t deserve it, in the truth that
this God is present in our lives even when circumstances make us doubt it, and
in the knowledge that all His promises hold, all the time. So many things in life can plunge us into
such darkness that seeing is impossible.
And my answer to how to survive those times—the tumors, the traumas, the
terminal nature of life—is to somehow see anyway. We must be able to reach a place where, when the
ground doesn’t agree with the map, we believe—we know—that the map is still
right.” W. Lee Warren
“God does wonders. A soul not persuaded of this is uneven and
unstable in the course of obedience.
Every threat from man dismays him.
He has eyes to behold the power of man, but lacks a spiritual eye to see
God at his back. The Christian’s comfort
also increases when we trust in God’s almighty power. Many fears like waves roll over us. He who sees himself folded in almighty arms,
O how he mounts up before the wind with his sails filled with joy and peace!
Let storms arise, this one may sing merrily with the sharpest thorn at his
breast.” William Gurnall
“Far too many people keep trying to buy joy, but happiness
is not found in circumstances. Joy is available to everyone, even to those
stripped of every material possession, for joy is to be found in a Person. It
comes through an intimate and personal relationship with the Lord, so that even
those in the worst circumstances can smile.
The unfailing source of strength and confidence necessary to
satisfaction and contentment is the Sovereign Lord
(Yahweh) Himself. The strength He gives is like the power found in the feet of
a deer, a gazelle, or any active, swift-footed animal. Much as a deer can quickly bound through a
dark forest, so the prophet said he could move joyfully through difficult
circumstances.” Bible Knowledge
