HE
RULES ALL
BREAD
33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision
is from the LORD. Proverbs 16:33 (NIV)
28 “Do not be afraid of those who
kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can
destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them
will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew
10:27-31 (NIV)
10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm
rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.
11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the
lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those
that have young. 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust
of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills
in a balance? 13 Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed
him as his counselor? 14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who
taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him
the path of understanding? Isaiah 40:10-14
(NIV)
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and
its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and
spreads them out like a tent to live in. 23 He
brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. 24 No
sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root
in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps
them away like chaff. Isaiah 40:22-24
(NIV)
26 Lift
your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the
starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power
and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Isaiah 40:26 (NIV)
9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am
God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I
make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to
come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. 11 From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off
land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what
I have planned, that will I do. Isaiah
46:9-11 (NIV)
3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have
loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing
out! 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been
his counselor?” 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should
repay him?”
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To
him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans
11:33-36 (NIV)
BUTTER
“A
measureless God begins to upend our sense of personal awesomeness.” Jen Wilken
“Glory is always yours to
witness. Life is too short to not choose awe.
Busy is a choice. Stress is a choice. Giving yourself to joy is a
choice. Choose well.” Ann Voskamp
“Our God is an awesome God is reigns from
heaven above in wisdom, power and love.
Our God is an awesome God.”
Michael W. Smith
“A wonder-filled life is grateful attentiveness to the awe in our
ordinary.” Alia Joy
“Far
above the life of fish and worms, the stars take their place and hold their
place at God’s command. How much more,
then, the natural events of this world — from weather to disasters to disease
to disability to death. Let us therefore stand in awe and be at
peace, knowing that no natural event is outside of God’s wise and good
purposes, and perfect control.” John
Piper
HEART SAVOR
·
If God is in
control of our lives then we can relinquish it.
·
We are to embrace
what He allows with ever our eye towards our part in what now is. We can know that His motivation rests on the
fulfillment of His revealed will in His Word and that He is desirous of all His
children to be conformed to the image of Christ – whatever that takes and
however that looks. He does nothing
whimsical but all according to the plan of His good, pleasing and perfect will –
even though often it is very difficult to be discerners of that truth. Now we see so unclearly, then we shall see
face to face.
·
Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your on understanding – in all our ways
acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.
