ENCOURAGED TO PRAY IN FAITH

1 Then
Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray
and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town
there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with
the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For some time he refused. But finally he
said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she
gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ 6 And the Lord said, ‘Listen to
what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his
chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.
However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?’” Luke

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him
who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which of you, if his son asks for bread,
will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a
snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how
to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven

14 For
this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from

pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through
his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high
and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that
you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now
to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to
him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for

18 And
pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19 Pray
also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I
will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for
which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I

26 In
the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought
to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words
cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the
Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the
saints in accordance with God's will.
