SWEET
FRUIT
BREAD
1 “I am the true vine, and my
Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no
fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be
even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I
have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No
branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you
bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me
and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John
15:1-5 (NIV)
15 “Watch out for false prophets.
They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes
from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree
bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad
tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is
cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize
them.” Matthew 7:15-20 (NIV)
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of
the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But
his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and
night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which
yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does
prospers. Psalms 1:1-3 (NIV)
7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness
and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those
who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions
and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with
the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 (NIV)
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more
and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so
that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless
until the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes
through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV)
10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life
worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good
work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being
strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may
have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving
thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the
saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness
and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in
whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:10-14 (NIV)

“All God’s love and the fruits of it come
to us as we are in Christ, and are one with Him.” Richard
Sibbes
“We are
never more like Christ than when we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit –
clothed in His righteousness – being about the good works which the Father has prepared
in advance for us to do.” BHY
“The only priority that drives
the Master of the vineyard is to bring us to fruitfulness. He will do whatever it takes to make that
happen.” Wayne Jacobsen
“You – one magnificent branch
in the Father’s vineyard – were made for abundance.” Bruce
Wilkinson
“As the vine sends its energy
through the branch to bear fruit, so Christ can send His energy through you.” John
MacArthur
“By continually abiding in
Christ, the one who has been pruned to bring forth much fruit will bring forth
much fruit.” Elmer Towns
“The Christian should resemble
a fruit tree, not a Christmas tree.” John
Stott
“To believe in the God over us and
not in the God within us – that would be a powerless and fruitless faith.” Phillips Brooks
“Our
actions disclose what goes on within us, just as its fruit makes known a tree
otherwise unknown to us.” Thalassias the Libyan
“By virtue of our union with Christ we
bring forth fruit. Every bunch of grapes
has been first in the root, it has passed through the stem, and flowed through
the sap vessels, and fashioned itself externally into fruit, but it was first
in the stem; so also every good work was first in Christ, and then is brought
forth in us. O Christian, prize this
precious union to Christ; for it must be the source of all the fruitfulness which
you can hope to know. If you were not
joined to Jesus Christ you would be a barren bow indeed.” C. H. Spurgeon
“The most effective means the enemy has to
keep believers from being full of the Spirit is to keep us full of ourselves.” Beth Moore
“Total surrender to ‘the love of Christ’
is the only thing that will bear fruit in your life. And it will always leave the mark of God’s
holiness and His power, never drawing attention to your personal holiness.”
Oswald Chambers
