OUR GOOD GUIDE
BREAD

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.   Psalms 32:8 (NIV)

8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.  Psalms 25:8-10 (NIV)

23 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you?  And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  Psalms 73:23-26 (NIV)

7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:7-9 (NIV)

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.  2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul.  He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.    Psalms 23:1-6 (NIV)

11 The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.  You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.   Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.”  John 16:12-15 (NIV)

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end. Psalms 48:14 (NIV)

“God uses us when we are out and about doing normal things and taking steps of faith. That is how the Christian life works. We read the Word of God. We take the principles of the Word of God and put them into practice. We pray that the Lord will guide our steps. And then we go.”  Greg Laurie
“We as Christians know that faith is taking God at His Word.  And we realize that faith does not get us around our problems, but it gets us through them.  Such a promise is found in Psalm 48:14, ‘For this is God, our God forever and ever.  He will be our guide even to death.’  His promise then is no matter how difficult we may find life to be, He will guide us all the way home.  Isaiah 42:16 ‘And I will bring the blind by a way they know not.  I will lead them in paths that they have not known.’  This is the way God leads His own.  You and I are blind to the future, but He is not, and He has promised to lead all who will put their trust in Him.  Sometimes, because our circumstances are totally out of our control, we not only have to believe these promises, but we must put them to the test.”    Wales Goebel

“I know not the way God leads me, but well do I know my Guide.”  Martin Luther

“The Bible must be considered the great source of truth by which men are to be guided in government as well as social transactions.”   Noah Webster

“A group decided to hike the mountains of southern Kentucky.  They hired the best-known guide in the area to lead them on their journey.  But after only a few hours on the trail, their guide seemed perplexed.  Soon, they discovered they were lost and had been walking in circles.  One of the friends looked at their guide and asked, ‘How can you be the best in the state of Kentucky?’  To which the man replied, ‘That’s just it.  I’m afraid we are in Tennessee.’  Many people in our nation are following similarly misinformed guides today.  These so-called leaders believe they can operate without God and His Word, but they are tragically mistaken.  Those who follow them are likewise deceived – completely unaware that they could be headed for hell unless they change course.  As for you and me, we must search the Scriptures and discover true north: the will of God.  He has given us all we need to discern His will – The Holy Spirit and His Word.  Without them, we will wonder off God’s path and away from the Truth.  Let us therefore commit ourselves to daily seeking the Lord, for He alone can lead us to heaven and eternal life.”   Michael Youssef.

“Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.”
Thomas Chisholm

“Deep in your heart it is not guidance you want so much as a guide.”  John White

HEART SAVOR

  • ·         God is a faithful guide and will instruct us in the way we should go – He instructs, not forces.
  • ·         He guides us with His counsel and afterward will take us in to glory.
  • ·         Don’t be mistaken.  The best place to be is standing firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

****NOTE:  In an effort to bring encouragement to others during these uncertain times I have recorded (albeit lamely!) some Scripture recitation.  If you are interested in viewing these they are on the links below or you can go to Beth Yoe at Instagram.  I will be changing out these links each Monday (Lord willing!) ****

Also, we are beginning to post Bible Studies recorded on Anchor which may be of interest.  Thus far we have James and we are now beginning Esther.  The site is: https://anchor.fm/betsy44
