1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the
LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and
its rider he has hurled into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength
and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a warrior;
the LORD is his name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has
hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The deep waters have covered
them; they sank to the depths like a stone. 6 Your right hand,
O LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy. 7 In
the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You
unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble. 8 By the blast of your
nostrils the waters piled up. The
surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart
of the sea. 9 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will pursue, I will
overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will
draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’
10 But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered
them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who among
the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you-- majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory, working wonders? 12 You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed
them. 13 In your
unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you
will guide them to your holy dwelling. Exodus
15:1-13 (NIV)
1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth! 2 Sing
the glory of his name; make his praise glorious! 3 Say to God, “How
awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before
you. 4 All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name.” Selah. Psalms
66:1-4 (NIV)
1 In that day you will say: “I will praise you, O LORD.
Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have
comforted me. 2 Surely
God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my
strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” 3 With joy
you will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4 In that day
you will say: “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the
nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. 5 Sing
to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the
world. 6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for
great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
Isaiah 12:1-6 (NIV)
46 And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me
blessed, 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me--
holy is his name.
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. Luke 1:46-50 (NIV)

33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing
out! 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been
his counselor?” 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should
repay him?”
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:33-36 (NIV)

“Be not afraid of saying too much in the
praises of God; all the danger is of saying too little.” Matthew
Henry
“Praise
elevates our eyes off our circumstances and places them on to Him Who is able
to keep us from falling. Praise often
precedes the movement of God’s hand for His children because it demonstrates
our love and dependence upon Him having full knowledge it is He Who is actually in control of all things –
not us.” BHY
“Men in general
praise God in such a manner that He scarcely obtains the tenth part of His
due.” John Calvin
“To bless God for
mercies is the way to increase them.” William
Dyer
“There is nothing

“You don’t learn
to praise in a day. But you can begin
today, and practice tomorrow….until it becomes part of you.” Erwin Lutzer
“Fill Thou my
life, O Lord my God, in every part with praise; that my whole being may
proclaim Thy being and Thy ways.” Horatius

“The great thing, and the only thing, is to adore and
praise God.” Thomas Merton
“O for a heart to
praise my God, a heart from sin set free; a heart that always feels Thy blood
so freely shed for me.”
Charles Wesley
HEART SAVOR
- ·
Praise God from
Whom all blessings flow.
- ·
Praising God is
giving the credit to where credit is always due – flesh can accomplish nothing
of eternal value. Anything we do eternal
is done through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the One that gives
the power gets the glory.
- ·
Praise Hm as hard
as you pray to Him. Not because He needs
it, but because we do.
