BE
ONE WHO BLEEDS SCRIPTURE
BREAD
15 Do
your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not
need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2
Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
when we pray for you,
4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints-- 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. 7 You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit. 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Colossians 1:3-12 (NIV)

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living
according to your word. 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not
let me stray from your commands. 11 I
have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. 12 Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. 13 With my lips I recount all the laws
that come from your mouth. 14 I
rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. 15 I meditate on your precepts and
consider your ways. 16 I
delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. Psalm
119:9-16 (NIV)
89 Your
word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands
firm in the heavens. 90 Your
faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and
it endures. 91 Your laws endure to
this day, for all things serve you. 92 If
your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. Psalm
119:89-92 (NIV)
97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. 99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. 100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. 101 I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. 102 I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. 103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:97-103 (NIV)

165 Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can
make them stumble. Psalm 119:165 (NIV)
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive
yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone
who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at
his face in a mirror 24 and,
after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
25 But the man who looks
intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not
forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does. James
1:22-25 (NIV)

“We
may be certain that whatever God has made prominent in His Word, He intended to
be conspicuous in our lives.” Charles
Spurgeon
“We should always
keep Christ before our eyes. The devil
continually tempts us to abandon Christ and seek the Father, saying to
ourselves, ‘This or that will please him’.
Meanwhile we ignore Christ—the One the Father sent—so that we might
listen to Him alone. We respond as the
Pharisees did and reject Christ. We
wonder, ‘Where is the Father?’ That is
the question that world asks. This is
the greatest temptation to your faith.
You must devote yourself to the Word of Christ and train yourself to
hold on to it so that you never lose sight Jesus.” Martin
Luther, Faith Alone.
“If you wish to
know God, you must know his Word. If you
wish to perceive His power,
you must see how He works by his Word. If you wish to know His purpose before it comes to pass, you can only discover it by His Word.” C.H. Spurgeon

“The Word of God represents all the possibilities of
God as at the disposal of true prayer.” A.
T. Pierson
“Beware of reasoning about God's Word
- obey It.” Oswald
Chambers
“Christ’s words are of permanent
value because of His person; they endure because He endures.” W. H. Griffith Thomas
“What is more elevating and transporting than the generosity
of heart which risks everything on God’s Word?” John Henry Newman
“God

HEART SAVOR
- · God’s Word is powerful and effective: 12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
- · God’s Word to us is His revealed will and He never goes contrary to it. Indeed. We are to study and apply its Truths to our lives for our ultimate good and His glory.
- · We keep our way pure by living according to the Word of God.
