PRECIOUS
IN HIS SIGHT
BREAD
3 The LORD
appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
17 The LORD your
God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he
will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah
3:17 (NIV)
1 The LORD is my
shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He
makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths
of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for
you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all
the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm
23:1-6 (NIV)
35 You give me your shield of victory, and your right
hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. Psalm
18:35 (NIV)
5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of
your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you
nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5 (NIV)
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not
be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD
your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. 13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. 14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight. Psalm 72:12-14 (NIV)
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm
116:15 (NIV)
16 “For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 (NIV)
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in
my love. 10 If
you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my
Father's commands and remain in his love.
11 I have told you this so that my joy
may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as
I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life
for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. John
15:9-14 (NIV)
18 For you know that
it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed
from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a
lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV)
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for
us, who can be against us? 32 He
who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not
also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those
whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who
is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to
life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or
danger or sword? 36 As it is
written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep
to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in
all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death
nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor
any powers, 39 neither height
nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39 (NIV)

“God’s love is always supernatural, always a miracle,
always the last thing we deserve.” Robert
Horn
“Because of Christ, there is no place
God will not go and no one He will not bless.
You are never beyond God’s love, and you are never alone. God is present
even in the midst of your greatest need, your greatest weakness, and your
greatest failures. Grace would have it no other way.” ThornCrown’s

“We all know the value of
joy. It alone is the proof that what we
have really satisfies the heart. Just
this makes gladness such a mighty element in the Christian character: there is no proof of the reality of God’s
love and the blessing He bestows, which men so soon feel the force of, as when
the joy of God overcomes all the trials of life. And for the Christian’s own welfare, joy is
no less indispensable: the joy of the
Lord is his strength; confidence, and courage, and patience finds their
inspiration in joy. With a heart full of
joy no work can weary, and no burden can depress; God Himself is strength and
song.” Andrew Murray
“Can
you answer this, believer? Can you find any reason why you are so often
mourning instead of rejoicing? Why yield to gloomy anticipations? Who told you
that the night would never end in day? Who told you that the sea of
circumstances would ebb out till there should be nothing left but long
stretches of the mud of horrible poverty? Who told you that the winter of your
discontent would proceed from frost to frost, from snow and ice and hail to
deeper snow and yet more heavy tempest of despair? Don't you know that day
follows night, that flood comes after ebb, that spring and summer succeed
winter? Be full of hope! Hope forever!
For God does not fail you. Do you not know that God loves you in the midst of
all this? Mountains, when in darkness hidden, are as real as in day, and God's
love is as true to you now as it was in your brightest moments.” C. H. Spurgeon revised by Alistair Begg
“The only ground on which God can forgive our sin and reinstate us to His favor is through the Cross of Christ. There is no other way! Forgiveness, which is so easy for us to accept, cost the agony at Calvary. We should never take the forgiveness of sin, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and our sanctification in simple faith, and then forget the enormous cost to God that made all of this ours. Forgiveness is the divine miracle of grace. The cost to God was the Cross of Christ. To forgive sin, while remaining a holy God, this price had to be paid. Never accept a view of the fatherhood of God if it blots out the atonement. The revealed truth of God is that without the atonement He cannot forgive – He would contradict His nature if He did. The only way we can be forgiven is by being brought back to God through the atonement of the Cross. God’s forgiveness is possible only in the supernatural realm……Once you realize all that it cost God to forgive you, you will be held as in a vise, constrained by the love of God.” Oswald Chambers
“For the love of God is broader than the measures of
man’s mind; and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.” Frederick William Faber
“When I hear this singing, I stand dumbfounded,
staggered, speechless that He is singing over me.” John Piper
HEART SAVOR
- · God has loves us with an everlasting love – He rejoices over us with singing.
- · Though our circumstances may be painful and not of our choosing, God always has our best interest at heart. Just because it is hard does not mean it is not loving: 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)
- · If you want to see God’s love for you simply look at the cross: 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)
