DILIGENTLY
KEEP YOUR HEART
BREAD
12 See
to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns
away from the living God. 13 But
encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you
may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Hebrews 3:12-13 (NIV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who
can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the
mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”
Jeremiah
17:9-10 (NIV)
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring
of life. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be
on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the
abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15 (NIV)
20 He went on: “What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ 21 For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts,
sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and
folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and
make a man ‘unclean.’” Mark 7:20-23 (NIV)
43 “No good tree bears bad fruit,
nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick
figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45 The good man
brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man
brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the
overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” Luke
6:43-45 (NIV)
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:42-44 (NIV)

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them
sleeping. “Could you men not
keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not
fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” Matthew 26:40-41 (NIV)
28 Keep
watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you
overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own
blood.
29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. Acts 20:28-31 (NIV)

a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks
self-control. Proverbs 25:28 (NIV)
2 Devote
yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians
4:2 (NIV)
7 The
end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so
that you can pray. 1
Peter 4:7 (NIV)
13 Be
on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. 14 Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NIV)

“Do not take up your time so much with studying your own heart as with studying Christ’s heart. For one look at yourself, take ten looks at Christ!” Robert Murray M‘Cheyne

“Guard
your heart zealously - not to simply keep it in a particular pattern or habit
by merely following a rule or regulation – rather to keep it responsive to each
breath of the Spirit. He is to lead, we
are to follow.” BHY
HEART SAVOR
- · Lord help me to be a student of my own heart but an even greater student of Yours.
- · Clean your heart and your words and actions will follow suit. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
- · We are easily deluded by our own vices which are etched into our daily routines like deep ruts. Carefully attending to the condition of our hearts in comparison to the Savior’s words and ways will enable us to keep our accounts short. Flee to the foot of the cross. Repent for Him to restore. Ah, restoration – such a balm of Gilead – such peace for the tormented soul. 3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
