CROWN
HIM THE LORD OF ALL
BREAD
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46 (NIV)
13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” John 13:13-17 (NIV)
6 “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am
a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due
me?” says the LORD Almighty.” Malachi
1:6 (NIV)
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the
kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on
that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive
out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them
plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew 7:21-23 (NIV)
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine
and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the
winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its
foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears
these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man
who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the
streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with
a great crash.” 28 When Jesus had finished
saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and
not as their teachers of the law.” Matthew 7:24-29 (NIV)
16 This is what the LORD
says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where
the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah
6:16 (NIV)
23 Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take
up his cross daily and follow me. 24
For whoever wants
to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for a man to gain the
whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” Luke 9:23-25 (NIV)
18 Dear
children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1
John 3:18 (NIV)

“Lord, high and holy,
meek and lowly, You have brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in
the depths but see You in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold
Your glory. Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up, that to be
low is to be high, that the broken heart is the healed heart, that the contrite
spirit is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all, that to bear the cross is to wear the
crown, that to give is to receive, Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from
deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Your stars shine; Let me
find Your light in my darkness, Your life in my death, Your joy in my sorrow, Your
grace in my sin, Your riches in my
poverty, Your glory in my valley.” From: The Valley of Vision: A collection of Puritan Prayers &
Devotions
“Lord, I would place my hand in Thine, Nor ever murmur nor repine; Content, whatever
lot I see, Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.”
Joseph H. Gilmore
“As
long as we meddle with any kind of sin we shall never clearly see the blessed
face of our Lord.” Julian
of Norwich
“An
awakened heart trembles at the audacity of sin, and stands alarmed at the
contemplation of its punishment. How
monstrous a thing is rebellion! How
direful a doom is prepared for the ungodly!
My soul, never laugh at sin’s fooleries, lest thou come to smile at sin
itself. It is thine enemy, and thy
Lord’s enemy – view it with detestation, for so only canst thou evidence the
possession of holiness, without which no man can see the Lord.” C.H. Spurgeon
“Oh that
I may be roused out of my slumber, and be watchful and ready against the coming
of my Bridegroom...Even the wise virgins fell asleep. Let this be a warning to me, O Lord. Set thou a guard before my eyes, ears, and
other faculties, lest the world again should enter through these avenues of the
heart; if the spark be not speedily extinguished, it will soon break out into a
flame: thus sin is of a progressive
nature, and its venom spreads very quickly and very wide, unless it be stopped
and opposed in time. Watch, therefore,
over this unsteady heart of mine, O Thou Keeper of Israel; that as soon as it
begins to wander from Thee, I may be alarmed to flee from sin as from a
serpent. Give me grace to look upon
every hour as my last; so that being ever wisely upon my guard I may meet Thee
with joy when my time is run out, whenever it shall please Thee to call me
hence.” K. H. Von Bogatzky
“When
Jesus is Lord of a life there is a deep and reverential awareness of accountability
to Him coupled with a strong affection to please Him in all that we say and
do. It really does matter how we live
our lives. It will be either for Him Who
spoke the world into being as well as died for our sins on the cross or we live
for ourselves. We will either serve the
Creator or the created. “Lord” rightly means
owner, master, might and power.” BHY

SAVOR
- · We must not only call Jesus Lord but let Him be Lord of our lives.
- · We are not our own, we have been bought by a price. Therefore, we are to honor God with our body. He is the rightful One to be on the throne of our lives not ourselves.
- · He is our Lord if we do what He says.
