COME
ALIVE
BREAD
1 The
hand of the Lord was upon me, and
he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord
and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among
them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were
very dry. 3 He
asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “O Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy
to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make
breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you
and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you,
and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” 7 So I prophesied as I was
commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and
the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and
skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy
to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign
Lord says: Come from the four
winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he
commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their
feet--a vast army. Ezekiel 37:1-10
(NIV)
1 I
waited patiently for the Lord; he
turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and
mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. Psalms 40:1-2 (NIV)
6 Jesus
answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (NIV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have
come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 (NIV)
11 And
this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his
Son. 12 He who
has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:11-12 (NIV)
1 As for
you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when
you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air,
the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among
them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following
its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4 But because of his great love
for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in
transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:1-5 (NIV)
13 When
you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God
made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written
code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us;
he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he
made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV)
20 “I
have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave himself for me. 21 I do
not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through
the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians
2:20-21 (NIV)

“Only
God has the power to give life and He gives it to us through belief in His Son
Jesus Christ. He who has the Son has
life. He who does not have the Son does
not have life.” BHY
“As God pursues us with His wonderful
grace, something magnificent takes place in our lives. Before God's grace was
extended to us, we were dead in our sins and powerless to overcome them. We
were in bondage to the enemy, and the future never looked so dim. But then, God
entered the scene and demonstrated the power of His grace. After Adam and Eve
sinned in the garden, the Bible begins to tell the unfolding tale of God's
pursuit of the human heart through the goodness of His grace. And each time God
catches us and reveals the power of His grace, our once-dead souls become
alive! Instead of being unable to fight sin's strongholds, God's grace gives us
the power to overcome them through the Holy Spirit.” Michael Youssef
“What
is revival? A simple definition is ‘to come alive again.’ Revival is the spark,
if you will, that starts the engine. And periodically we need a new spark. Revival is like waking up from your sleep.
One person defined it as nothing more or less than a new beginning of obedience
to God. The great evangelist Billy
Sunday once said, ‘They say that a revival is but temporary. So is a bath, but
it does you good.’ A revival may be only
temporary, but we need one right now. We
are not praying that nonbelievers have a revival, because they don't need one.
They need salvation. The church needs revival. Revival is a church word, and it is for believers only—believers
who once, perhaps, were more alive than they are today and need to be revived
again.” Greg
Laurie
“The secret is Christ in me, not me in
a different set of circumstances.” Elisabeth Elliot
“Through the eyes of men it seems There's so much we have lost As we
look down the road Where all the prodigals have walked One by one The enemy has
whispered lies And led them off as slaves But we know that you are God Yours is
the victory We know there is more to come
That we may not yet see So with the faith you've given us We'll step
into the valley unafraid, yeah As we
call out to dry bones Come alive, come alive We call out to dead hearts Come
alive, come alive Up out of the ashes Let us see an army rise We call out to
dry bones, come alive God of endless
mercy God of unrelenting love Rescue every daughter Bring us back the wayward
son And By your spirit breathe upon them Show the world that you alone can save You alone can save As we call out to dry bones Come alive, come
alive We call out to dead hearts Come alive, come alive Up out of the ashes Let
us see an army rise We call out to dry bones come alive So breathe, oh breath of God Now breathe, oh
breath of God Breathe, oh breath of God Now
breathe Breathe, oh breath of God Now breathe, oh breath of God Breathe, oh
breath of God, now breathe As we call
out to dry bones Come alive, come alive We call out to dead hearts Come alive,
come alive Up out of the ashes Let us see an army rise We call out to dry bones
come alive, yeah We call out to dry
bones, come alive Oh come alive.” Lauren Daigle - Lyrics
to “Come Alive (Dry Bones)”
“But the question to precede all
others, which finally determines the course of our lives is, 'What do I really
want?' Was it to love what God commands, in the words of the collect, and to
desire what He promises? Did I want what I wanted, or did I want what He wanted,
no matter what it might cost?” Elisabeth Elliot
“The single most important principal I ever discovered is this: the goal or purpose of the Christian is precisely the pursuit of happiness in God. The reason for this is that there is no greater way to glorify God than to find in Him the happiness that my soul so desperately craves.” Sam Storms
“Happiness is an outward expression of an inward joy that is found in Jesus.” Jennifer Dukes Lee
