JUSTICE
BREAD
4 He is
the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who
does no wrong, upright and just is he. Deuteronomy
32:4 (NIV)
7 Now
let the fear of the Lord be upon
you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord
our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery. 2 Chronicles 19:7 (NIV)
7 The Lord reigns forever; he has established
his throne for judgment. 8 He
will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a
stronghold in times of trouble. Psalms 9:7-9 (NIV)
1 I will
sing of your love and justice; to you, O Lord,
I will sing praise. Psalms 101:1 (NIV)
4 For
the word of the Lord is right and
true; he is faithful in all he does. 5 The Lord
loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. Psalms 33:4-5 (NIV)
1 This
is what the Lord says: “Maintain
justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my
righteousness will soon be revealed. 2 Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it
fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from
doing any evil.” Isaiah 56:1-2 (NIV)
28 For
the Lord loves the just and will
not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the
offspring of the wicked will be cut off; 29 the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it
forever. Psalms 37:28-29 (NIV)
10 Let
those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of
the wicked. 11 Light
is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Psalms 97:10-11 (NIV)
11 I saw
heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is
called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing
fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one
knows but he himself. 13 He is
dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were
following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and
clean. 15 Out of
his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He
will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury
of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND Lord OF LordS. Revelation
19:11-16 (NIV)
8 “For
I, the Lord, love justice; I hate
robbery and iniquity. In my faithfulness I will reward them and make an
everlasting covenant with them.” Isaiah
61:8 (NIV)
BUTTER
“Sin is the dare of God’s justice, the
rape of His mercy, the jeer of His patience, the slight of His power, and the
contempt of His love.” John Bunyan
“Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise. Unresting, unhasting and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might; Thy justice like mountains high soaring above Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.” Walter C. Smith
“God’s justice
guarantees that ultimately all that is unfair will be dealt with.” Joseph Stowell
“When
Christians stand up for righteousness and justice, they evidence the power of
the living God.” Charles Colson
HEART
SAVOR
- · Out God is a God of justice. It is rooted in His character.
- · With Him there is no favoritism. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism. Colossians 3:24-25 (NIV)
- · I am to maintain justice and do what is right. It is always better to do the hard right in lieu of the easy wrong.
