TRUST
IN HIM
BREAD
5 Trust
in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make
your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
(NIV)
3 Trust
in the Lord and do good; dwell in
the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your
righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday
sun. 7 Be
still before the Lord and wait
patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry
out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not
fret--it leads only to evil. Psalms
37:3-8 (NIV)
23 If the
Lord delights in a man's way, he
makes his steps firm; 24 though
he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord
upholds him with his hand. 25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen
the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. 26 They are always generous and
lend freely; their children will be blessed. 27 Turn from evil and do good;
then you will dwell in the land forever. 28 For the Lord
loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Psalms 37:23-28 (NIV)
17 Pay
attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I
teach, 18 for it
is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your
lips. 19 So
that your trust may be in the Lord,
I teach you today, even you. Proverbs
22:17- 19 (NIV)
7 Some
trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are brought to their
knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
Psalms 20:7-8 (NIV)
8 “Those
who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.” Jonah 2:8 (NIV)
4 Blessed
is the man who makes the Lord his
trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false
gods. Psalms 40:4 (NIV)
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also
in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if
I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me
that you also may be where I am.” John
14:1-3 (NIV)
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
BUTTER
“We are never beyond the Shepherd’s eye. In our sorrows He observes us incessantly, and not a pang escapes Him; in our toils He sees all our weariness, and writes in His book all the struggles of His faithful ones. These thoughts of the Lord encompass us in all our paths and penetrate the innermost regions of our being. Not a nerve or tissue, valve or vessel of our bodily organization is uncared for: all the littles of your little world are thought of by our great God.” Charles Spurgeon
“Never
be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Corrie
Ten Boom
“Want of
trust is at the root of almost all our sins and all our weaknesses, and how
shall we escape it but by looking to Him and observing His faithfulness. The man who holds God’s faithfulness will not
be foolhardy or reckless, but will be ready for every emergency.” Hudson Taylor
“God is to be
trusted when His providences seem to run contrary to His promises.” Thomas
Watson
“When a train goes
through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away your ticket and jump
off. You sit still and trust the
engineer.” Corrie
ten Boom
“If the basis of peace is God, the secret
of peace is trust.” J. N. Figgis
“On Him then reckon, to Him look, on Him
depend: and be assured that if you walk
with Him, look to Him and expect help from Him, He will never fail you. An older brother, who has known the Lord for
forty-four years, who writes this, says for your encouragement that He has
never failed him. In the greatest
difficulties, in the heaviest trials, in the deepest poverty and necessities,
He has never failed me; but because I was enabled by His grace to trust in Him,
He has always appeared for my help. I
delight in speaking well of His Name.” George Mueller
“His
love is unfailing, His Word unchangeable, His power ever the same; therefore
the heart that trusts Him is kept in ‘perfect peace’…I know He tries me only to
increase my faith, and that it is all in love.
Well, if He is glorified, I am content.” Hudson Taylor
“Never
dread any consequence resulting from absolute obedience to His command. Never fear the rough waters ahead, which
through their proud contempt impede your progress. God is greater than the roar of raging water
and the mighty waves of the sea. ‘The
Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever’
(Psalm 29:10). A storm is simply the hem
of His robe, the sign of His coming, and the evidence of His presence. Dare to trust Him! Dare to follow Him! Then discover that the forces that blocked
your progress and threatened your life become at His command the very materials
He uses to build your street of freedom.” F. B.

HEART
SAVOR
- · Trusting in God is to go far beyond our comfortable circumstances – even pagans can experience peace when there are plenty of comforts in the den. Trusting in Him when we find ourselves in the midst of what we would not choose keeps us in steadfast peace as we continue to fix our eyes upon Him. It is a peace which is unearthly in its blessing - sent straight from the throne of our God. That’s the promise of His Word - 3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
- · I am to trust in the Lord with all my heart and not lean on my own limited understanding.
- · God has my best interest at heart – He is more than worthy of my trust.
