Come To Me Matthew 11:28-30 Isaiah 55:1-3, 6-9 07.04.14

COME TO ME

BREAD

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matt 11:28-30 (NIV)

1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.  3 Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.”

Isaiah 55:1-3 (NIV)

6 “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD.  9 ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”

Isaiah 55:6-9 (NIV)

BUTTER

“When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do. That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.”   Rick Warren

HEART SAVOR

  • ·       Jesus wants me to come to Him.  It is He alone Who provides perfect rest for my weary soul, strength for the task at hand, purpose for the life I live, peace amidst my trials, comfort in my tears and overflowing joy in His presence.  I am the great loser when I do not come to Him.
  • ·       Jesus is gentle and humble and He loves me.
  • ·       Jesus is much more interested in my being with Him rather than my doing for Him.
