GREAT GAIN OF BEING CONTENT
BREAD
6 But
godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For
we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But
if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People
who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and
harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For
the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money,

10 I
rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me.
Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I
am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content
whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is
to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every
situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I

7 To
keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great
revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to

is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Christ empowers us
to be content whatever the circumstances as we turn to Him – it is in this turning
toward God, His sufficiency and His strength, that keeps His child content.

What the world
offers is a mere paste gem compared to the diamond of contentment that only
comes from Jesus.

Christ is more than
sufficient to meet our every need. Be
filled with Him and not be found wanting.
