PROCLAIM
HIS PRAISE
BREAD
3 Because
your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name
I will lift up my hands. 5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of
foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. 6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the
watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your
wings. 8 My
soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.
Psalms 63:3-8 (NIV)
1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his
mighty heavens. 2 Praise
him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with
the harp and lyre, 4 praise
him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with
resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the
LORD. Psalms
150:1-6 (NIV)
3 Great
is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. 4 One
generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty
acts. 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your
majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. 6 They
will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great
deeds. 7 They will celebrate your abundant goodness and
joyfully sing of your righteousness. 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger
and rich in love. 9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he
has made. 10 All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints
will extol you. Psalms 145:3-10 (NIV)
23 Sing
to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. 24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous
deeds among all peoples. 25 For
great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the
LORD made the heavens. 27 Splendor
and majesty are before him; strength and joy in his dwelling place. 28 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to
the LORD glory and strength, 29 ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name. Bring an
offering and come before him; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. 1 Chronicles 16:23-29 (NIV)
7 The
end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so
that you can pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers
over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each
one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully
administering God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If
anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone
serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things
God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for
ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
(NIV)
9 But
you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging
to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness
into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people
of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NIV)
15 Through
Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the
fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16 (NIV)
1 Praise
the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting
to praise him! Psalms 147:1 (NIV)

“Be not afraid of saying too much in the
praises of God; all the danger is of saying too little.” Matthew
Henry
“The pulse of prayer is praise.” William
Arthur Ward
“I cannot understand Him,
but I can trust Him. And so today, when everything physical
and emotional in me is completely drained, and there is not a single note of
praise in my heart, I choose to praise Him anyway. Not for what He does,
but for Who He is. When I cannot praise Him out of joy, I will praise Him
out of obedience. And I am learning that when I praise Him out of
obedience from the depths of the pit, it is always more meaningful than when I
praise Him out of an overflow of my heart from the heights of the
mountain. And because I know His nature, and I know that even when I
don’t feel it, He is still a kind, loving, good God, then I know that soon, He
will fill my heart with joy once again. And the praise will flow easily
from the depths of my heart.” Laura Black
“The great thing, and the only thing, is to
adore and praise God.” Thomas Merton
“High places and God’s praise do
seldom agree; a full cup is not easily carried without spilling, and he that
stands on a pinnacle needs a clear head and much grace.” Charles
H. Spurgeon
“Why does
God want us to remember? God’s desire for us to recall His past mercies has
nothing to do with His own personal insecurities, but everything to do with us
worshiping Him rightly. Every time you recall the depth of God's love for you, He is
inviting you to love Him back more deeply and more fully. Every time you
remember His matchless love, it brings healing and wholeness, challenging you
to respond with praise and surrender. Every time you recall His immense
sacrifice, it brings hope and trust that He will do it again. Remembering Him
is for His glory and for our good.”
Michael Youssef
“Thanksgiving in all things
–accepts the deep mystery of God through everything. We give thanks to God not because of how we
feel but because of Who He Is. No amount of regret changes
the past, no amount of anxiety changes
the future, but any amount of gratitude changes the
present. In the stressful times,
seek God. In the painful times, praise
God. In the terrible times, trust God. And at all time, at all times,
at all times — Thank God.” Ann Voskamp
“…It is a cold and
lifeless thing to speak of spiritual things on mere report; but when men can
speak of them as their own – as having share and interest in them, and some
experience of their sweetness – their discourse of them is enlivened with firm
belief and ardent affection; they cannot mention them, but straight their
hearts are taken with such gladness as they are forced to vent in praises.” Dr. Robert
Leighton
