FAITHFUL
BREAD
9 Know
therefore that the Lord your God
is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand
generations of those who love him and keep his commands. Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)
25 To the
faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself
blameless, 26 to the
pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. 27 You save the humble but bring
low those whose eyes are haughty. Psalms
18:25-27 (NIV)
4 For
the word of the Lord is right and
true; he is faithful in all he does. 5 The Lord
loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. Psalms 33:4-5 (NIV)
8 He
will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God,
who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is
faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NIV)
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master
has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at
the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing
so when he returns. 47 I tell you the truth, he will
put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But
suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away
a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and
drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant
will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware
of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the
hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 24:45-51 (NIV)
2 Now it
is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV)
1 You
then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard
me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also
be qualified to teach others. 3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ
Jesus. 4 No one
serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs--he wants to please his
commanding officer. 5 Similarly,
if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless
he competes according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive
a share of the crops. 7 Reflect
on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 2 Timothy 2:1-7 (NIV)
24 But be
sure to fear the Lord and serve
him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for
you. 1 Samuel 12:24 (NIV)
BUTTER
“Every
time we resist the slightest temptation, we honor God. Every time we overcome even the smallest
problem by trusting and obeying our Lord Jesus, God is glorified in our
lives. Whenever we choose character over
convenience, faithfulness over ease, or honesty over deceit, we bring honor to
the Lord Himself.” Robert
J. Morgan
“God wants us to
reconnect with the powerful and timeless things He has done in the past,
enabling us to build on them rather than always starting over. He not only desires that we be encouraged by
remembering His past faithfulness, but also to realize that the promises and
anointings released during those seasons are still available today.” Dutch
Sheets
“Faith,
He tries, but sustains. And when our
faithfulness fails, His remains unshaken.
He cannot deny Himself.” Hudson
Taylor
“Faithfulness rarely
feels heroic; it feels much more like showing up and hanging in. It is a matter
of going to our cell, whatever form that might take, and letting it teach us
what it will. Availing himself (Brother Lawrence) to consistent faithfulness
yielded the blessing of both proficiency and presence—the presence of God—right
there in midst of the monotony of dirty pots and pans.” Margaret Guenther
“Though
salvation is not by the works of the law, yet the blessings which are promised
to obedience are not denied to the faithful servants of God. The curses our Lord took away when He was
made a curse for us, but no clause of blessing has been abrogated. We are to note and listen to the revealed
will of the Lord, giving our attention not to portions of it but to ‘all these
words.’ There must be no picking and
choosing but an impartial respect to all that God has commanded. This is the road of blessedness for the
Father and for His children. The Lord’s
blessing is upon His chosen to the third and fourth generation. If they walk uprightly before Him, He will
make all men know that they are a seed which the Lord has blessed.” Charles H. Spurgeon
“Our significance isn’t found in fame or fortune, but in knowing
that we have been links in God’s chain.
Our faithfulness to Him, even in obscurity, will yield results that can
only be calculated in eternity…..Our only duty in life is to be faithful to all
the work the Lord assigns.” Robert J.
Morgan
“We're pilgrims on the journey - Of the narrow road
- And those who've gone before us line the way - Cheering on the
faithful, encouraging the weary - Their lives a stirring testament to
God's sustaining grace - Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
- Let us run the race not only for the prize - But as those who've gone
before us - Let us leave to those behind us - The heritage of
faithfulness passed on through godly lives - After all our hopes and
dreams have come and gone - And our children sift through all we've left
behind - May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover
- Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find - Oh
may all who come behind us find us faithful - May the fire of our
devotion light their way - May the footprints that we
leave - Lead them to believe - And the lives we live inspire them
to obey - Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful.” Steve
Green
“But it isn't over until it's over. Your job is to be faithful. Your job is to do your part and leave the results in the hands of God. When we stand before the Lord one day, it isn't going to be about quantity; it is going to be about why and if you were faithful to do what the Lord set before you to do.” Greg Laurie

HEART SAVOR
- I am to be found faithful - even (or perhaps especially) when things are difficult.
- Our God is faithful to His promises and loving towards all He has made.
- May those who come behind me find me faithful.
